The Planning and Public Works Department includes staff in 99 professions across 15 divisions at 12 locations. The department provides services in community planning, development, and permitting; infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance (for roads, surface water, and sewer); solid waste administration, waste reduction and recycling programs; and operation of two airports and a ferry system.
