Veterans Assistance in Pierce County

This nation will remain the land of the free so long as it is the home of the brave. -Elmer Davis
Pierce County is on pace to have the largest Veterans Population in Washington state by 2021.
The Veterans’ Assistance Fund provides emergency assistance to qualified veterans. Vouchers are available for those in need of food, rent, utilities, medical, and burial services. This funding is provided by Pierce County property tax dollars and is not an entitlement. All assistance is provided based on need. We are not part of the United Stated Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
Honorably Discharged Veterans who are involved with the justice system may be eligible to receive food, housing, and utility assistance through our Incarcerated Veterans Program. We work with the justice system to ensure the best possible outcome from an already bad situation. We, or our network of community partners, can help you with issues related to addiction, poverty, homelessness, and PTSD.
